Aram Lee was born 1986 in Seoul and lives and works in Amsterdam. As an artist Lee focus on reinterpreting and re-purposing matter found within institutions. This driven research approach continues the suspended sequences of static things while relocating their role. Her artistic practice engages with performative events, film and video installations; to reshapes the complex trajectories of objects and images into sociopolitical systems by shifting the structures of power. When the rendered instruments which are formed as diasporic amnesia, impure, spectral, false fictions are released from the institution, it visualises the para-political structures, preserved power. Their process of performative action with the public potentially allows for the dissolution of predominance, by shaping a way an object is described and circulated.
